Naturopathic Medicine
Naturopathic Medicine is a discipline of medicine that is based on bringing balance to the whole body. This is done by focusing on promoting a healthy state while preventing disease by addressing the root causes of bodily dysfunction. By directing the biochemical pathways of the body through nutrition, and lifestyle, you are able to restore balance. Naturopathic Doctors work with their patients using minimally invasive modalities to bolster the body’s natural abilities to heal itself and maintain balance.

Naturopathic Doctors attend post-bachelor accredited naturopathic medical schools which are four-year, in-residence, hands-on training programs. In addition to a standard medical curriculum, schools require their graduates to complete four years of training in disciplines such as clinical nutrition, acupuncture, homeopathic medicine, botanical medicine, physical medicine, and counseling. For at least the final two years of their medical program, naturopathic medical students intern in clinical settings under the close supervision of licensed professionals.

Naturopathic Toolbox
Mind, Body and Soul
Naturopathic Medicine utilizes a variety of minimally-invasive modalities and techniques to empower patients to regain good health.
Each modality focuses on education so that you can continue on journey to better health.
Nutrition Counseling
Nutrition is one of the most important contributors to health. Fortunately for us, it is also something that we can actively control every day. Unfortunately for us, it can be easy to be overwhelmed by choosing what to eat. We are so often bombarded with fad diets, misinformation from media and misleading food labels.

We help you to navigate what type of food is most beneficial for you specifically. Additionally, we hope to help you build a positive relationship with food so that eating healthy doesn't feel like hard work.

All naturopathic patients will have nutrition incorporated into their treatment plans.

Botanical Medicine
Herbs can be a very powerful form of medicine. For many generations herbalists, doctors, healers and a host of others have been using plants to improve their health. Naturopathic Doctors are trained extensively in the art of botanical medicine. Knowing which herbal remedies are indicated, safe and effective is essential to using this modality.

Hydrotherapy and Heat Therapy
Hydrotherapy is an important healing modality utilized in traditional Naturopathic Medicine. This method utilizes water in a variety of application methods and temperatures to stimulate the body. Some examples of this type of therapy include saunas, steam baths, foot baths, contrast therapy, herbal sitz baths, peat baths and constitutional treatments. While some of these treatments will be performed in the office, many of them can be continued to be used at home once you learn how to safely utilize them.

Lifestyle Counseling
Laying the foundation for good health is deeply rooted in your day to day lifestyle. This is of course more than just making a plan for diet and exercise. We also aim to improve your sleep, mindset, work-home balance and help you to limit your exposure to harmful habits that can be present in daily life.

Functional Lab Testing
We partner with several functional lab service providers to give you access to the most up-to-date testing options. In addition to the standard testing options, this allows us a more comprehensive look at hormonal function, GI health and cardio-metabolic risks. See Services or contact our office for more information on the exact lab tests we offer.
